A built-in shaft power monitor and a unique Load Curve Protection function protect your process by immediately detecting any situation that could cause inefficiency or damage. Early warning and safety stops allow preventative action.

 

Energy Savings & Optimized Operation

The FDU regulates flow and pressure by continuously adapting motor speed. No energy wasted and no unnecessary equipment wear. A sleep function further reduces energy consumption by pausing the motor when it does not need to run. An automatic pump rinsing function also increases efficiency.

Multiple pump or compressor control is a reliable and cost-efficient method of keeping a constant flow or pressure despite varying demands. The FDU can control up to seven pumps.

 

User-friendly & Reliable Operation

Operation parameters can be set in your own process unit - m3/min, bar, Pascal, etc. - making monitoring easier and more reliable. The removable control panel has a copy function for transferring settings to other FDU units. Switching between local and remote control can be accomplished with the push of a single key on the control panel. The virtual connection of logical functions, comparators, and timers, means no cables or external I/Os are required.

 

Options add functionality

A number of options let you customize the Emotron FDU 2.0 functionality and fully utilize the product according to your needs. Up to four different options can be combined.

The compact standalone 2.5 - 250A units are NEMA 12 (IP54) classified. The robust, all-metal construction can be installed close to the application, which eliminates the cost of cabinets and long motor cables.

 

Simplified maintenance

Should a process problem occur, a full status report will be generated for each event in the fault logger. You can quickly identify the cause and take corrective measures. Maintenance is simplified thanks to a small number of easily accessible mechanical parts and by using fold-out modules in larger units.

The Emotron FDU is available in both NEMA 1 (IP20/21) and NEMA 12 (IP54) configurations. The robust steel construction of the NEMA 12 version means that the drive can be installed close to the application, reducing the cost of additional cabinets and motor cables. The 300 - 1,500A units (NEMA 1 modules) are also available in compact CG-designed NEMA 12 cabinets. The 25 - 244A, NEMA 1 series units are optimized for mounting in control cabinets or on an electrical room wall. Its robust yet compact design allows for easy access to power terminals. Extended temperature range up to 130°F (55°C).
